Skin

Skin is one of the largest organs of our body that plays a major role in our health. It acts as a protective shield against infections and diseases. Similar to our other organs and body’s functions, vitamins and minerals are essential for maintaining our skin health. We should not forget that beauty starts from within.

A fat soluble vitamin, Vitamin A, is an essential nutrient that can support normal skin and mucus membranes.

Another antioxidant , Vitamin C, has been found to be an essential micronutrient for maintaining our skin health. Its antioxidant properties can protect our body and skin from damaging molecules, such as free radicals and it has also been identified to contribute to normal collagen formation, a major component of skin.

B Vitamins deficiencies have also been linked with skin health issues. Vitamin B7 or Biotin supports skin, hair and nails health.

Other B complex vitamins like Niacin, Riboflavin and the mineral Zinc, contribute to the maintenance of normal skin.

The trace minerals Manganese and Copper contribute to the normal formation of connective tissue while Copper also supports normal skin pigmentation.
