Immune System

Having a healthy lifestyle with adequate sleep, exercise and low stress is very important for enhancing your body to fight infection and disease. However, our immune system is strongly affected by nutrition as well; a balanced diet full of a variety of vitamins and minerals supports the immune system function and enhances the body’s response through the elimination of foreign substances and antioxidant activity.

Vitamin D, also called the sunshine vitamin, supports the normal fuction of the immune system and is one of the most researched micronutrients supporting this health benefit.

Another fat soluble vitamin, Vitamin A, has also been found to be a key nutrient in supporting immune health, as it contributes to the normal functioning of the immune system.

Vitamin C is another well researched micronutrient proved to maintain the normal function of our immune system.
Its antioxidant activity can protect our body from potentially harmful molecules that can accumulate in our body and be harmful, such as free radicals, therefore Vitamin C also contributes to the protection of cells from oxidative stress.

Trace minerals like Zinc, Iron, Copper, Selenium and the water soluble vitamin B6 all contribute to the normal function of the immune system.
